Founded in 1993, Lincoln Eagles Basketball is a non-profit (501c3) Christian home school sports ministry for student athletes in 6th-12th grade from Lincoln, Nebraska and the surrounding area. In order to play for the Lincoln Eagles student athletes must be home-schooled for a majority (at least 51%) of their classes over the course of the school year.
The Vision Statement of the Lincoln Eagles is “Developing Godly Character Through the Pursuit of Excellence in Basketball.” This permeates everything we do. Youth sports presents a great opportunity for young people to “test” themselves in an environment where the real life consequences off the court are minimal. Whether in the context of practice or a game, sports gives kids immediate feedback on their efforts and attitude. When that happens, they discover what they are capable of, and learn to compete not just against others, but against themselves. Creating a faith based, family friendly environment where this process can happen, regardless of skill level or past experience, is why we do what we do.
Our practices start in mid to late October, with games starting in November. The regular season runs through the first weekend of March for our 6-8th grade teams, while our high school teams compete annually in the NCHC Nationals in mid-March in the Springfield, MO area. In addition, we have numerous offseason opportunities, including summer leagues, camps, and open gym times.
