Lincoln Eagles Junior High School Girls Basketball

HEAD COACH: Aaron Stratman
ASST. COACH: Austin Weaver

The Lincoln Eagles homeschool junior high girls’ basketball team emphasizes teamwork and individual growth within a supportive environment. Our schedule features mostly regular season games in the Lincoln area, with the added benefit of a few travel opportunities each season for broader competition and team bonding.

We began the season with 5 returning players and 5 players who are new to the Lincoln Eagles program. We finished the season with 23 wins and 3 losses. Our scoring average for the season improved by nearly 11 points this season, while our points allowed average dropped approximately 7.5 points.

We were undefeated in the Catholic League and had one loss to another homeschool team. We placed second at Regionals after placing 5th place in 2025 and 10th place in 2024. Our 5 veteran players provided tremendous leadership and tenacity from beginning to end.

Our 5 rookie players improved immensely and will provide the foundation for continued improvement for the program in the future.

The theme for our team this season was “Toughness”. According to Jay Bilas, “Toughness has nothing to do with size, physical strength or athleticism…toughness is a skill, and it is a skill that can be developed and improved.” Throughout our season, we played teams that had noticeable size and strength advantages. Despite these shortcomings, we finished the year with 17 wins and 10 losses overall, 9 wins and 3 losses against homeschool programs, and 8 wins and 5 losses against private schools. Our team began the year with one 11-year-old, two 12-year-olds, three 13-year-olds, and two 14-year-olds available to play and one 13-year-old on the injured list. On the season, we averaged over 31 points per game while holding our opponents to a 26-point average. By the end of the year, this team was exhausting the other teams with their toughness and provided many exciting moments for their fans.
