High School Boys 2024/25 Season Achievements
The 2024-2025 Lincoln Eagles JV/Varsity boys was a special group of young men completing an incredible season. The Varsity finished with a record of 22-9. They finished the season on an 14-3 run which included the Kansas River District Championship, a NCHBC Gold Ball Championship and the NCHBC Division 2 National Championship.
The Varsity team had an impressive showing at Nationals with their only loss coming to the Division 1 Undisputed National Champion, MHEA. The boys at Nationals outscored their opponents on average 35-25 in the 2nd half of each game at Nationals as they came from behind to win in all but one game.
This year’s team had 7 seniors, which completed their careers as the most accomplished team in Eagles history. This year’s team had 3-1000 point scorers in Grady Boden, Rylan Keiser, and Nick Lenzen. Grady Boden has had the most career points and Nick Lenzen the most career assists in recorded Eagles history. But this year’s team was known more for their Synergistic qualities. The whole of this team was much greater than sum of their individual parts. They showed tremendous loyalty to each other and to the Eagles sticking together to accomplish something no other Eagles team had done before. They relied on each other’s talents and focused on the what’s best for the team, rather than individual achievements or accolades. Guys played different roles, positions and were asked to do things they had never done before and they each individually and collectively stepped up to meet these challenges.
The Lincoln Eagles JV team had a record of 7-5. With 7 new players to high school basketball, the JV team grew in their knowledge and understanding of the game. The JV team suffered some early injuries that prevented them from playing a full schedule, but they gained in their understanding of the game by competing in practice against the Varsity all season long.
